This Autumnal Spiced Maple Cake is a fluffy and delicate dessert made with pure maple syrup, brown sugar and the flavors of fall.

  • 7/8 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup (or more to taste)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • A pinch of nutmeg powder


  • 1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees f
  • 2 Line a square pan with parchment paper
  • 3 Whisk flour and baking powder in a bowl
  • 4 In large bowl, mix sugar, melted butter and maple syrup
  • 5 Beat in eggs one at a time
  • 6 Stir in flour gently until combined
  • 7 Bake for 27-30 mins, until toothpick comes out clean (the cake should feel firm and spongy)
