Strawberries with Grand Marnier Cream

Lusciously light cream, richly scented with orange-flavored Grand Marnier, adorns ruby-red strawberries creating a dessert so simple, yet so luxurious.
Why try? When strawberries are at their peak ripeness, the perfect way to serve them is accented but not overpowered, as in this recipe.
Foodie Byte: The Grand Marnier cream is very simple to make with only four ingredients, but is decadent served over any type of berry or even over a slice of cake. Try making an updated strawberry shortcake by layering the strawberries and Grand Marnier cream with pound cake or angel food cake.

Ingredients
- 6 egg yolks
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup Grand Marnier
- 1 pint heavy cream
- 4 cups strawberries, stems removed
Preparation

1In a double-boiler over medium heat, whisk yolk and sugar together until very thick and creamy. Take off heat and whisk in Grand Marnier. Cover with plastic wrap and let cool.

2Whip heavy cream until thick and whisk about a cup of it into the egg mixture to lighten it. Spoon the rest of the whipped cream onto the egg mixture and gently fold in until incorporated.

3Dollop the Grand Marnier cream over individual dishes of strawberries or serve family style in one big bowl. Enjoy.
