Slow Cooked Ham with Cider and Raisins

Ingredients

  • 1 fully cooked ham (about 10 pounds)
  • 4 cups apple cider
  • 2 teaspoons dry mustard
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • dash nutmeg
  • 1 cup golden raisins

Preparation

    Place ham in crock pot (4 quart) cut side down. Pour cider over ham. Add remaining ingredients. Cover and cook for 6-8 hours.

    For the gravy: Remove 2 cups juice and most of the raisins from crockpot, place in sauce pan. Add a cup milk or water to thin it out. Bring to a boil. Add 4 tablespoons flour and 4 tablespoons water (premixed) stirring constantly. Reduce heat, continue stirring until thickened.

I made this for a group on Sunday, and it came out beautifully! It was easy and absolutely delicious--highly recommended!!
