90 Second Proscuitto Wrapped Asparagus

90 Second Proscuitto Wrapped Asparagus

Preparing in advance will help you to navigate busy holiday meals. Watch as Chef Cari Martens with The Food Channel makes some Proscuitto Wrapped Asparagus (click for the full recipe to follow along and make your own).

Begin by preparing 24 pieces of asparagus. Place the asparagus between your fingers and bend until it breaks. The asparagus will naturally break where the woody part ends and the fresh juicy part begins.

Bring two gallons of salted water to a boil and add in the asparagus. Cook it until it’s tender, about three minutes.

Remove  the asparagus from the pot and place in ice water for another five minutes. This stops the cooking and helps to keep them crisp.

Remove the asparagus from the ice water, drain and dry them with paper towels.

Then cut your prosciutto in half. Wrap each stalk with one piece of prosciutto then transfer to a serving platter or a baking sheet.

Proscuitto is a dry cured ham, typically sliced thin. You can store the finished product in the refrigerator for up to a day. Just make sure to cover tightly and bring to room temperature before serving.

This simple yet elegant appetizer will bring pizazz to any holiday meal.

Now get in the kitchen!
