Disneyland in California will hold a Food and Wine Festival, April 11 through May 5, 2008. The festival celebrates the state’s fresh, local flavors with complimentary cooking and spirits seminars, tastings, demos, dinners and more.

The event features winemaker dinners at Steakhouse 55, including:

  • Friday, April 11 – Chappellet Winery, Phillip Titus, Winemaker
  • Friday, April 18 – Twomey Cellars, Daniel Baron, Winemaker
  • Friday, April 25 – Nickel & Nickel Single Vineyard Wines. Darice Spinelli, Winemaker
  • Friday, May 2 – Pride Mountain Vineyards, Steve Pride, Proprietor

Also, Napa Rose Chef Andy Sutton will be hosting hands-on cooking classes in which guests create a themed meal with Andy (such as the Napa Rose Scallops pictured, right) and then enjoy it with expertly paired wines. The class will be held at the show kitchen at the Napa Rose restaurant on Fridays and Saturdays; April 12, 19, 26 and May 2 from 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.

The festival will also include a wine tasting course led by Disney’s recently appointed Master Sommelier, Michael Jordan. Designed to introduce the joys of wine tasting, each class will offer basic training in the different grape varietals and blends, tastes, structures and characteristics found in every glass. At the conclusion of the class, students will put their new skills to use in a blind tasting. That class will occur Sunday afternoons; April 13, 20, 27 and May 4, 2008, 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.

The event is completely open to the public – in some cases admission to the park is required (and separate from event price). Additional information may be found by clicking here.
