The North Carolina State Fair gets the Blue Ribbon for using technology in new ways to promote the Fair, including social networking sites, Twitter, and a Fair Food Finder.
There is Twitter traffic about the North Carolina State Fair. According to a blog attributed to WRAL, the NC State Fair has embraced the online world as part of its communications about the Fair. Interactive initiatives include a MySpace page, a YouTube channel, and Twittering.
According to the report, “The new Twitter outlet is being used to link to blog posts, solicit ideas, and announce news related to the Fair.”
One other piece of NC Fair news: they promise to be in development of a new feature called the “Fair Food Finder,” which will allow you to search online for your favorite fair foods and see where they are located within the Fairgrounds. The WRAL report says “no longer will you have to desperately search for fried pickles, boiled peanuts, strawberries on a stick, or BBQ sundaes.”
