Does The Food Channel have a recommendation on the best place to buy a Gingerbread house, or the best kit to make one?
Building a gingerbread house makes for a memorable experience during the holidays. The point here is to let your creativity flow – so what if the roof is a little crooked, or more candies get eaten than placed on the house! Everyone should build at least two in their lifetime: one as a child, and one as an adult working with a child. There’s nothing like it to get you in the holiday mood. Our experience is that companies such as Williams-Sonoma, Sur La Table, or Dean and Deluca can be relied on to carry quality food merchandise if you want to check out what they offer in the way of kits. If you want to try making one at home, we recommend the directions from King Arthur Flour. (See the downloadable pdf below.)
