Here’s something to get your attention – a restaurant that lets you decide to pay.
Budget Travel is reporting that some restaurants around the world are letting their patrons decide how much their meal is worth.
Restaurants trying this approach include Terra Bite Lounge in the Seattle area, Der Wiener Deewan in Vienna, and One World Everybody Eats in Salt Lake City. It’s a relaxed environment in which people pay extra when they have cash on hand, and walk away at times without paying at all. Best case scenario is those who pay for their food based on its value.
We’ve been watching this trend awhile, and there is plenty of evidence that people are ready to make their own value judgments. Only time will tell if it’s risky for the restaurant owners who are trusting in both their worth and in fair treatment by their patrons.
Pay what you think your meal is worth – talk about having things your way! Will it come to a restaurant near you?
