Vintage Food Cart Makes a Down to Earth Cabinet

By Cari Martens

Oh, for the good old days, when luggage could be checked without additional fees, and food carts rolled up and down the airplane aisles dispensing free pretzels. Feeling a bit nostalgic as you gear up for your summer vacation? Then bring a piece of history home with a Vintage Airline Food Cart!

These are actually original trolleys used on airlines, complete with scratches and dents. (Who knows, maybe that dent was from the time the cart slammed into your chair while you were trying to sleep.) Anyway, they are recommended for use as a dry bar or for storage and could be a pretty cool addition to a kitchen. You get a retractable serving tray and 14 tracks if you want to spring for the optional drawers and shelves.

We see this piece of nostalgia in two trends – the definite focus on “green” through recycling old materials, plus the desire for people to travel back in time a bit and recapture those “simpler” days.

Hand me a pretzel, please.
