Best Thanksgiving Ever. We know that sounds like a tall order, but we’re really going to do all we can to make this turkey day your best ever. For many of us here at The Food Channel, it’s our favorite of all holidays—well, we are a bunch of foodies, after all.
In addition to a stellar lineup of delectable recipes, we’ll be passing along some savvy entertaining tips, offering expert cooking techniques, plus how-to-do-it videos—even a day-by-day timeline to help you stay on top of all things turkey! There will be new additions almost every day, so check back often.
In our opinion, the best Thanksgiving ever does NOT have to mean the most expensive Thanksgiving ever. Let’s face it, just about all of us are feeling the pinch of a slow-to-rebound economy. So, we’ve put an extra focus on value this year.
Let’s talk turkey
Of course the bird gets its usual place of honor at the center of the table. We’ll help you make it more flavorful and juicy than ever with a recipe for fabulous Herb Butter that goes under the skin and into the meat. We demonstrate the technique with a how-to video, too. And we stuff the turkey with a classic recipe for Oyster Stuffing — we’ve got a ‘how-to-make-it video’ on that as well. Just scroll down to the end of this page.
Side dishes add so much to the Thanksgiving feast, and we’ve got an all-star lineup, including:
⋅ Brussels Spouts with Raisins – unlikely combo, unbelievably good (photo above).
⋅ Spoon Bread – everyone will love it
⋅ Brandied Peaches – Another traditional favorite adds a touch of class
Room for Dessert? But of course!
You’re going to want to offer choices. We’ve got them.
⋅ Cranberry Pear and Ginger Chutney – served in little edible pumpkins…so cute! (See photo above.)
⋅ Pumpkin Black Walnut Pie – a nutty, tasty twist on the T-day staple
⋅ Lane Cake – takes a little time, but so worth it!
