The American Culinary Federation (ACF), the nation’s premier organization for professional chefs and cooks, has awarded Plugrá European-Style Butter the prestigious ACF Seal of Approval. Three varieties of the butter—salted, unsalted and clarified—were submitted for extensive testing and approved by the ACF’s Seal of Approval Committee.
Certified Executive Chef James Taylor, who chairs the committee, applied the organization’s rigorous testing criteria to all three varieties of Plugrá, evaluating the butters for consistency, performance, adaptability to various cooking situations (for format consistency) and accuracy of labels and marketing materials.
‘We create customized evaluation teams for every product tested,’ Taylor says, ‘comprised of ACF members from different areas of expertise. For example, with Plugrá, we tested the three forms in a variety of applications, including soups, sauces, appetizers, entrees, side dishes and baked goods, and as a compound butter. The products were all endorsed after passing our tests with distinction.’
‘We’re thrilled to have our butter put to the test by such a talented and respected organization,’ said Erin Turley, Plugrá Brand Manager. ‘It’s one thing for a marketer to speak to a product’s benefits. But when you put the validation of America’s most respected chef organization behind those claims, it’s invaluable.’
The American Culinary Federation, Inc., established in 1929, has nearly 22,000 members spanning 230 chapters nationwide.
