When I was a kid there were a variety of â€˜jokeâ€™ chewing gums you could buy in novelty shops to play â€˜hilariousâ€™ practical jokes on your friends. Included was one flavor labeled as licorice that tasted like you were chewing on black peppercorns. Now that I think about it, I believe it turned your tongue black, too. Now that’s funny.

Well, the Japanese folks from Kracie are adding spice to life with a peppery new gum that’s no joke. Pepperfruits gum combines the flavors of mixed fruits and black pepper to â€˜put a little bit of zing in your day.â€™
It’s currently only available in Japan and sells for 105 yen per pack (about $1).
