Urban Tasting Room Sets New Trend


A unique wine experience in San Francisco is setting a new trend toward collaboration. Andrew Chun and Jan Wiginton, co-founders of Taste Partners, LLC, opened Press Club as a unique experiment in putting resources together. Press Club serves as an urban tasting room for eight of California’s small-production wineries and vineyards, where winery employees present guests with an array of vintages and varietals to sample and purchase.

Press Club is partnering directly with the following artisan vintners in order to produce what they call a “California Wine Country experience.”

  • Fritz Winery
  • Hanna Winery
  • Landmark Vineyards
  • Miner Family Vineyards
  • Mount Eden Vineyards
  • Pahlmeyer
  • Saintsbury

The 9,000-square-foot venue is located on Yerba Buena Lane in San Francisco. Each winery hosts a signature experience in its dedicated area and offers Press Club visitors a personalized session with a winery representative.

‘Press Club has been envisioned as a sophisticated tasting environment in which San Francisco locals and visitors can enjoy an extraordinary sampling of wines from these top-quality producers without a trip to the Wine Country, but with all of the guidance and information one would expect at a winery tasting room,’ said Chun. ‘Press Club is unlike any other wine experience available in San Francisco.’

In addition to daily tastings with the vintners, Press Club guests are able to attend wine release parties and winemaker dinners hosted by each of the vintners at the San Francisco location.

“Each of our Press Club winery members has been carefully selected to create a superior selection of wine offerings for Press Club’s guests,” noted Wiginton. “We focused on independent, artisan producers who have all played a significant role in establishing Northern California as a world-renowned wine destination.”
