40 Days Sans Meat: Bring On the Peanut Butter

Day 29:

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I hope you showed your St. Pat’s spirit by rocking something green. I know I did. I even had a green beer at dinner.

I decided to eat something old school for lunch today. I had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and it was everything I wanted it to be. Peanut butter is probably one of my favorite foods or spreads…whatever you want to call it. I love it.

If you’ve ever been to a Whole Foods, you know that you can make your own peanut butter right there at the store. You can also make almond and cashew butters. I made the peanut butter once when I was in St. Louis and it was really tasty, but did not look appetizing at all. Anyway.

For dinner, I met up with some friends at a local pub to celebrate St. Pat’s day. I ordered a blackened mahi-mahi sandwich; it was probably the only thing on the menu (besides a salad) that I could eat. It was ok, the fish was a little dry, but it’s a pub. The best part of the meal was probably the green beer. It’s so festive.

The photo leads the food and beer to look very pink, but bear with me. Bar lighting isn’t always the best for a photo shoot.

Breakfast: Oatmeal Latté with Agave
Lunch: PB & J
Dinner: Blackened Mahi-Mahi
