Ben & Jerry’s has concocted a new coffee and whiskey flavored ice cream and named it in honor of the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, slated for June 10-13 in Manchester, Tenn. With typical Ben & Jerry irreverence, the ice cream has been dubbed Bonnaroo Buzz.
The Vermont-based company describes the flavor as ‘light coffee and malt ice cream with whiskey caramel swirls and English toffee pieces.’ Bonnaroo Buzz was unveiled recently at a concert at New York’s Bowery Ballroom headlined by L.A.-based band Ozomatli.
The flavor will be sold at the Bonnaroo festival and in Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shops across the country. If it sells well, it will eventually be available in pints.
Bonnaroo will donate its portion of the proceeds of the sale of Bonnaroo Buzz to the Bonnaroo Works Fund, supporting various local, regional, and national non-profits, many of which are in Tennessee. You can click here for more information.
Among the many artists scheduled to perform at this year’s festival are Weezer, Dave Matthews Band, Kings of Leon, Stevie Wonder, Jay-Z, Conan O’Brien, Regina Spektor, Tenacious D, and The Flaming Lips performing Dark Side of the Moon featuring Stardeath and White Dwarfs.
