A new product has hit the market designed to help you to eat cleaner. In fact, that’s the name of the stuff. Eat Cleaner is formulated to wash away pesticides, wax, contaminants, bacteria and just plain old dirt from fresh produce.

Available in a spray or biodegradable wipes, Eat Cleaner is made of plant-derived, FDA-approved ingredients and is lab-tested effective in killing up to 99.9 percent of E.coli and Salmonella.

As a sort of bonus, the product can make your produce stay fresher longer. Its makers claim it can increase the shelf life of fruits and vegetables by up to 200 percent, and it also helps prevent browning.

The Newport Beach, Calif.-based company that makes Eat Cleaner says that the product contains no alcohol or chlorine, which makes it safe to use as a cleaner for countertops, cutting boards and utensils—or to clean hands before eating.

The suggested retail price is around $4 per bottle or for a package of ten wipes. For more information, you can visit www.eatcleaner.com.
