Tyson Named Best New Product Manufacturer for 7th Straight Year

For the seventh consecutive year, operators ranked Tyson Food Service as the number one developer of new products in the foodservice industry, according to a nationwide study conducted by Cognitio.

‘Tyson Food Service is dedicated to providing our customers with high-quality products and solutions that best meet their needs, and our recognition by Cognitio for the seventh year in a row is a testament to this commitment,’ said Rodger Starnes, Tyson vice president of foodservice marketing and customer development.

The study measures the new product performance of manufacturers, based on operator assessments of their efforts across several key areas.

‘At Tyson we live by our customer service creed, which says the customer is the most important person in our business. Every member of our team understands that this is a great honor,’ added Starnes.

More than 800 foodservice operators, all with responsibility for menu and purchasing decisions, participated in the 2010 study. Tyson Food Service was named the overall most proficient manufacturer in bringing new products to the market.

Cognitio specializes in foodservice product potential measurement, utilizing its proprietary measurement tools to help determine the market potential and viability of new products.

Tyson Foods, Inc., founded in 1935 with headquarters in Springdale, Ark., is one of the world’s largest processors and marketers of chicken, beef and pork, and is ranked the second-largest food production company in the Fortune 500.
