Lidia Bastianich Shows How to Cook Italian On QVC This Week

By

Lidia Bastianich, often called the Queen of Italian restaurants and cooking, is a very busy cook these days.

The popular TV chef, best-selling cookbook author, restaurateur, and owner of a flourishing food and entertainment business will be back on QVC Wednesday, March 9, promoting (okay, selling) her line of kitchenware, Lidia’s Kitchen, which was first introduced last October. Her appearance is part of QVC’s 25 to Watch, and will premiere at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. ET.

Bastianich collaborates with her daughter Tanya to design kitchenware that she says “can work in any home.”

The kitchenware pieces are described as classic with a modern edge, and Bastianich says they are reminiscent of the staples that were in her kitchen as a child in Italy.

Prolific cookbook author, restaurateur

Bastianich’s many cookbooks include “Lidia Cooks from the Heart of Italy” and “Lidia’s Italy” – both companion books to the Emmy-nominated PBS television series, “Lidia’s Italy,” as well as “Lidia’s Family Table,” “Lidia’s Italian-American Kitchen,” “Lidia’s Italian Table,” and “La Cucina di Lidia,” which was chosen as one of The Food Channel editor’s top ten cookbooks for this year.

Lidia is the chef/owner of four acclaimed New York City restaurants — Felidia, Becco, Esca and Del Posto (recently awarded four stars by the New York Times), as well as Lidia’s in Pittsburgh and Kansas City. She is also founder and president of Tavola Productions, an entertainment company that produces high-quality broadcast productions including Lidia’s Italy.

If you’re going to be in the Philadelphia area, Lidia will be appearing at Williams-Sonoma in the King of Prussia Mall on Tuesday March 8th from 3:00-5:00pm. She will be signing copies of her latest cookbook, “Lidia Cooks From the Heart of Italy.”
