If the “New Brands on the Shelf” section of The Winter Fancy Food Show is any indication, then Peri-Peri pepper sauce, cured meats, pickles, croutons and gluten-free chocolate chip cookies are all hot items to watch. The section presents the specialty food industry’s newest producers of niche and artisan foods in a special pavilion devoted to emerging food entrepreneurs.
What’s more, the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade, Inc. (NASFT), uses this time with the entrepreneurs to offer training through seminars, expert advice, and networking at the show, going on now in San Francisco. More than 230 companies have joined the Member Candidate program.
“We are delighted by the success of our Member Candidate program,” says Ann Daw, president of the NASFT. “There are so many entrepreneurs who want to pursue their dream of making great food products, and we are here to help them navigate the marketplace.”
