If you’re a connoisseur of fine European-style pastries and desserts, you may want to check out Vanille Patisserie in Chicago. It’s kind of a little hidden gem of a place that’s about to become a bit more famous thanks to an upcoming appearance on the Food Network Challenge, which airs Sundays at 8pm/7c.
The little bake shop in the Lincoln Park area is owned by internationally renowned pastry chefs Keli and Dimitri Fayard. Dimitri, a native of L’lisle Arne, France, was named the World Pastry Champion in 2008 and is also a member of the prestigious Academie Culinaire de France. The award-winning duo also counts gold and silver medals at the National Pastry Championship and Southern Pastry Classic among their many accolades.
The Fayards are very excited about their appearance later this spring on Food Network Challenge, with new host Claire Robinson.
