Italian Wine Tasting Tour Kicks Off in Chicago

The first leg of the annual Tre Bicchieri wine tasting tour kicked off at the beautiful Grand Hall of Union Station in Chicago Tuesday evening and The Food Channel was lucky enough to be on hand for the festivities.

Gambero Rosso’s Tre Bicchieri is considered by many to be the most important North American presentation of premium Italian wines—the definitive annual guide to the Italian wine marketplace.

This was the second year that the event has been held in Chicago. From there it will move on to San Francisco, New York, and Dǖsseldorf, Germany, before the 2012 tour winds up in Montreal in June.

We were able to sip a great many varieties of delightful Italian wine at the elegant affair, some very expensive and others surprisingly affordable.

If you enjoy fine Italian wines, and your city is on the Tre Bicchieri tour itinerary, we highly recommend that you try to be there.

In the meantime, this one-minute music video will give you a little vicarious taste of the Chicago event.
