When you have seven children to feed you have no choice but to get creative. That’s what former ABC News journalist and Good Morning America anchor Joan Lunden did–and created a new kitchen product in the process. Lunden got tired of pasta slipping down her kitchen drain when she poured off the water so she began brainstorming about how to drain without dodging steam and dumping dinner–and Twiztt was born.

The Cook, Strain and Serve Set includes three pieces: a stainless steel pan, a lockable straining lid and a fitted melamine bowl which is handy for both keeping dinner warm and serving at the table. The melamine bowl can also be used as a separate mixing bowl.

Lunden’s line also offers a casserole dish with straining lid and keep-warm bowl. Another set, the Cut, Cook & Serve, comes with a non-stick skillet and bamboo chopping board that fits the melamine bowl for easy chopping and food preparation. Finally the Sear & Roast set is made of heavy duty cast iron to turn your cook top into a grill. It comes with a wire rack and high dome steaming lid.

Perhaps as her children and their appetites grow, Lunden will consider an industrial line of cookware..?

Twiztt by Joan Lunden is available both in stores and online at Bed Bath & Beyond.
