In honor of National Coffee Day, we thought it would be fun to share the Caffeinated States of America. According to new research from Mintel, enjoying a cup of Joe at a coffee house is more popular than ever. Sales for 2017 are estimated to top $23 billion, up 41 percent from 2011.

Although away-from-home coffee sales are up, Mintel notes the number of new coffee houses and cafes expected to open in the next year is declining. Are we doing without caffeine? Hardly. Ready-to-drink coffee sold in retail stores is the fastest growing sector in coffee.
Whether you make your own java, enjoy it in cafes and restaurants, or on-the-run, it’s clear we love our coffee.
Our friends at WalletHub just released a report on 2017’s Best Coffee Cities in America.
They took into account multiple factors including the number of coffee houses and cafes per capita, average cost per pack for coffee, and annual household spending on this morning staple.
