Looking for a beverage that’s sure to satisfy your sweet tooth? Sugarlands Distilling Company, an award-winning distillery in east Tennessee, has got you covered with this recipe for a Pineapple Upside Down Cake Cocktail.
Sure, it’s a beloved dessert, but our friends down south have crafted a smooth cocktail sipping version, in true Southern fashion. Sugarlands is located in Gatlinburg, just outside the Great Smoky Mountains, and offers a full line of spirits including the very on-trend moonshine, cream liqueurs, and rum and rye whiskey.
Moonshiners Alert!
The distillery has partnered with the cast of Discovery Channel’s hit show, Moonshiners, to bring traditional recipes from six moonshining legends to the public. This Pineapple Upside Down Cake is but one example. Find others here.
Sugarland is also a company with heart, launching the Moonshare program which helps nonprofit organizations positively influence their communities through grants, fundraisers and donations. Since its inception in 2014, the program has donated more than $525,000 to nonprofits across America.
Giving Back And Then Some
Following the devastating wildfires that swept through Gatlinburg in 2016, Sugarland launched a Smokies Strong campaign to raise money to assist employees and residents. In 2017, the company announced another partnership (I see a pattern here) with the Appalachia Service Project to help rebuild homes for Gatlinburg residents who were displace by the fires.
Now, enjoy the smooth, delicious butterscotch-influenced flavor of this Pineapple Upside Down Cake Cocktail.
