Are you looking for a way to liven up plain old meatballs? Watch as Chef Cari with The Food Channel shows you how to make chipotle mango meatballs.
Start with a prepared meatball–just stick them in the oven to cook while you make the sauce.
Next, it’s time to dice your mango. Siimply slice off the sides of the fruit ,avoiding the large seed in the middle.
Once you have the two sides, cut a checkerboard pattern into the flesh, stopping just short of the skin. Now it’s easy to scoop the mango into a bowl.
Into a saucepan add barbecue sauce, diced mango and chipotle seasoning. Let that simmer, stirring occasionally for about 15-20 minutes.
Add your cooked meatballs and let it simmer for an additional 5-7 minutes. You’ll want to serve these warm!
Adding versatile fresh mango moves any dish from the traditional to the spectacular.
