90 Second Mango Lavender Aqua Fresca

Do you need a family friendly “mocktail” for your next celebration? Watch as Chef Cari with The Food Channel walks you through her recommendation for this Mango Lavender Aqua Fresca.

It all starts by choosing the right mango. Don’t judge a mango by it’s color! To find a ripe mango just squeeze gently. A ripe mango will be slightly soft like a peach or avocado. 

 

Now that we have ripe mangoes, dice them by simply slicing off the sides of the fruit, avoiding the large seed in the middle. 

 

Once you have the two sides, cut a checkerboard pattern in the mango flesh, stopping just short of the skin, then scoop out your diced mango.

 

Now it’s time to make the simple syrup. Just combine one cup sugar and one cup water, then heat until the sugar is dissolved. 

 

Now combine the mango in a blender with simple syrup, lemon juice, lavender honey and water. Blend until smooth then let it chill before serving.

It’s fresh, fast and full of flavor that the whole family will enjoy.  Mmmm, spectacular.
