Quick Tip: Easy Way To Peel and Devein Shrimp

Shrimp may be the fastest cooking protein, but prep work is another story! Sure, you can buy peeled and deveined shrimp at the store, but you’re losing the quality of freshness.

Chef Roni Proter shares her expertise with us today on How to Peel and Devein Shrimp in the easiest way:

  1. Hold onto the shrimp by the front legs
  2. Using a pairing, or other small sharp, knife slice down the back of the shrimp, until the top of the tail.
  3. Squeeze the front legs and pull, which should remove the peel.
  4. Run shrimp under cool water and scrape off the vein with the back of your knife.
