T.G.I. Friday’s will officially kick off a frequent diner program dubbed “Give Me More Stripes” on Monday, July 14, as first reported by marketing industry newsletter Promo P&I in a story by Amy Johannes. Free food and special perks are offered to those who sign up.
Diners, who must be at least 21 years old to join the program, will receive a free appetizer when they sign on at www.givememorestripes.com. Customers earn $8 in free food for every $100 they spend, as well as a one-time pass to skip to the front of the line for in-restaurant dining, Promo P&I reports.
Once enrolled, members may choose from five different membership cards to display their drink preference or style: the classic, the brew, the Margarita, Long Island, or Mojito. Customers flash their cards to earn their “stripes,” receiving one stripe for every dollar they spend.
The program officially launches on July 14, but Friday’s loyalists are already signing up. Since a soft launch in April, some 300,000 people have registered for the offering, Andrew Jordan, senior vice president of marketing for T.G.I. Friday’s USA, told Promo P&I. The company promoted the program through advance e-mails to create excitement among its regular customers.
