When Pigs Fly: Maple Bacon Lollipops

Marketers love to sell us products in well defined, specific categories. We have needs, and they aim to fill them. However, I’m not quite sure how they’re going to position the Maple Bacon Lollipop from lollyphile.com.

This is no ‘bacon-flavored’ amateur showing, mind you. They use only sustainable, organic, cured bacon and top it with real Vermont maple syrup. Earlier today at The Food Channel we were product testing some flavorized samples that came in, and they always leave me thinking, “Wouldn’t the real thing just work better?” Well, these lollipop alchemists cooked up the real thing:

“The salty chunks of bacon make a delicious and unique counterpoint to the subtle sweetness of the maple, and oh, yeah – you’ll be eating an OMG bacon lollipop!”

Silence those cravings with fat, sweet and salt, all in portable, individually wrapped, hand-free packaging. You can get a twelve-pack at Lollyphile.com for only $24.

So far the site only has two flavors – but they’re not pulling any punches.
Their other flavor is Absinthe!
