Pizza Hut’s hot wings concept WingStreet recently was named the fastest growing chain in its segment by consumer research firm NPD Group â€” and plans to make good on that claim by building 4,000 new units across the U.S. over the next three years.
The WingStreet units that will be built under the expansion plan will open in both existing and new Pizza Hut restaurants across the country.
The WingStreet brand was created in 2003 as a delivery-based chain within Pizza Hut restaurants. It now operates in more than 1,000 locations offering three wing varieties â€” crispy bone-in, bone-out or traditional style â€” and eight flavors of sauce.
“Our rapid development is thanks to the strength of our WingStreet brand and the appeal of our products,” Lisken Lawler, director of WingStreet concept development, said in a statement.
