A vegetarian KitKat? Give me a break.
But it’s true. In Japan anyway. The unexpectedâ€”okay, weirdâ€”confection, called KitKat Enhancement Vegetables, is a result of the pairing between Nestle Japan and Ito En companies.
Introduced last month, the candy bar contains apple-carrot flavored sap squashed between chocolate covered wafers.
It’s not the first bizarre confectionary creation from Japan, reports website Weird Asia News. Nor is it the first strange KitKat flavor comboâ€”there are 81 currently available in Japan, including green tea flavored Maccha Milk KitKat, Red Azuki Bean KitKat, and Yubari Melon KitKatâ€”made with sticky melon pulp.
