What Do You Do If You've Added Too Much Salt?

Question:

How do you reverse too much salt being added to a recipe?

—Meem

Answer:

There really isn’t a good way without adding appropriate portions of all your other ingredients. You can add sliced potatoes to the dish, or even large chunks of potato that can be removed after cooking. Success of that approach may depend upon how much excess salt you put in.
