Restaurant owners everywhere are still trying to figure out the best ways to interact with customers via the Web, Facebook, Twitter and all forms of social media.
Atlanta-based chain Moe’s Southwest Grill seems to know what it’s doing. Moe’s reached out to customers with an “I Love Queso” video contest, offering a generous $1000 prize to the top video producer. Crowdsourcing at its best.
The eatery asked guests to enter the contest at www.ilovequeso.com by uploading a one-minute video about their love for Moe’s Queso. We don’t have data to gauge the contest’s impact on sales, but the videos themselves are quite entertaining. The top two especially, in our opinion, are MTV-worthy. Well, if MTV still aired music videos, that is.
If nothing else, Moe’s has some fun and funky footage it can use in future TV commercials.
The company has just announced the winners. The grand prize-winning video is I Love Dat Queso Divine ft. Chipz. Creator Christiano Covino from New Canaan, CT, will receive $1,000 and free queso for a year. The five runners up are:
