New York Restaurants Among the Big Winners in Culinary's ‘Oscars’

New York restaurants won top honors in the annual James Beard Foundation Awards, presented this week at New York’s Lincoln Center. The prestigious awards are sometimes referred to as the Oscars of the culinary arts.

Tom Colicchio of Craft in Manhattan took the prize for outstanding chef and Daniel Boulud’s Daniel was named outstanding U.S. restaurant. Marea, also in Manhattan, was chosen as best new restaurant.

Timothy Hollingsworth

Chef Timothy Hollingsworth of Napa Valley’s French Laundry, interviewed last week on The Food Channel, captured the Rising Star Chef of the Year Award.
