I made a wooden cutting board for my wife and want to oil it but I’m not sure what to use. I want to use something that won’t turn rancid and is safe for food use. I would appreciate a suggestion so she can use it and stop bugging me.

At The Food Channel we use and recommend food grade mineral oil; there are other options – you might check this site for more information on how to season cutting boards. Nice gift!
