B is for Baking by Susan McQuillan is a cookbook for younger kids. I think this is a good cookbook because of three reasons: creativity, organization, and appearance. In the following paragraphs I will explain why I think this is a good cookbook for kids.

Reason number 1: Creativity. I think it is very creative because it uses Sesame Street characters throughout the book to make it more interesting and appealing to young children. The Sesame Street characters also tell jokes, fun facts, and encourages kids to help. I also noticed at the beginning there is a small “game” where you count how many of the character you see throughout the book.

Reason number 2: Organization. I think it is very organized because all the ingredients are in one place and the same is true for the equipment needed. There is also an index and a table of contents for quick searching, and everything is labeled so there is no confusion. They are even put in little “chapters”. It is a very clear cookbook.

Reason number 3: Appearance. I think it has a pleasing appearance because it has many different colors that go together well. It also has nice pictures of each recipe that makes you want to eat them.

B is for Baking by Susan McQuillan is a good cookbook for younger kids. I made one of the recipes in this cookbook, “Ernie’s All-American Snickerdoodles” and they turned out very well. If there is one thing I could change, I would probably make the instructions a teeny bit clearer. But, other than that this is a great cookbook and I would definitely recommend this to cooks-in-progress.
