Consumer Electronics Show Trend Report: Mini Reese's a Hit with Techies

By

Reporting from the big Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Food Channel creative director and ace photographer David Nehmer reverted back into full foodie mode to fill us in on the latest on-trend product from…not Apple, Sony or Samsung, but from Reese’s.

David met up with Anna Lingeris, Public Relations Manager for Hershey’s, who was also attending CES. Lingeris was there to promote new Reese’s Minis.

“Technology is getting smaller every year,” Lingeris says, “so why not take candy and miniaturize it? Food has a lot of technology behind it. We’ve worked 5+ years to bring the number one Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup experience to the Reese’s Minis.”

“People are so mobile with smart phones, apps and texting, we didn’t want to slow them down by always tearing away wrappers for each bite,” Lingeris explained. She says the response to the Minis has been very positive so far.

Lingeris is overseeing the sampling of the little candies to all the techie nerds at the trade show. “We’re passing out over 100,000 samples in four days” she said.

Hope David brings us back some.
