Food Channel Vice President and Editor in Chief Kay Logsdon is set to speak about food trends at the 2011 Chicken Marketing Seminar, sponsored by the National Chicken Council in cooperation with the National Poultry and Food Distributors Association (NPFDA). The event will be held July 17-19 at the Resort at Squaw Creek in Olympic Valley, Calif. Logsdon is set to speak Monday, July 18, at 8:30 a.m.
“One of the great parts about my job is the opportunity to travel with The Food Channel staff all over the world finding new products and the latest culinary ideas, often seeing things before they hit the shelves,” said Logsdon. “We have the privilege of bringing those insights back to our readers so they can incorporate that knowledge into their own kitchens.”
Logsdon also attends major food shows, where she has been part of the trends panel for the Fancy Food Show, and a speaker for events such as Chain Operator’s Exchange (COEX). She participates regularly in the evaluation of new products both in the kitchens of The Food Channel and at events across the country. Her blog Comments from the Kitchen Office is on foodchannel.com and she also writes a Food Channel blog for posterous.com.
The two-day Chicken Marketing seminar explores trends in food marketing, consumer purchasing behavior, and new products to help attendees better compete in today’s competitive marketplace. Analysts also provide forecasts for chicken and competing meats, and the annual supermarket/foodservice roundtable gives chicken marketers the opportunity to hear directly from their customers.
