Hanukkah Gift Ideas

Tonight is the first night of Hanukkah, the festival of lights that runs December 20 through December 28 this year. If you are still looking for ideas, we pulled these suggestions from Kosherfest, the largest kosher food, lifestyle, beverage, and wine and spirits trade show.

  • Gourmet chocolate, with both parve (non dairy) and dairy varieties, from Michel Cluizel, including a large parve chocolate menorah that looks as good as it is to eat. They make a large assortment of chocolates and pastries handcrafted by a master chocolatier.
  • Or, try the Belgian milk or dark chocolate 5″ menorahs from Sugar Plum.
  • Kosher cook Jamie Geller offers the Joy of Kosher magazine, full of recipes, serving suggestions, decorating ideas, and even “eat light” ideas. Check out her free online newsletter for ideas (and see her recipe for latkes, here).
  • Planning to make traditional sufganiot (jelly doughnuts)? Fill them with fig cabernet preserves, from Tishbi.
  • If you are baking cupcakes for the holidays, you can get Hanukkah motifs from Ritelite’s cupcake decorating set. Includes 12 cupcake holders, 12 cupcake toppers and 3 cupcake stencils.
  • Need a dreidel cake mold to delight the children? The Kosher Cook has an 11” non-stick aluminum dreidel cake mold, which bakes one large cake in the shape of a dreidel.  The company’s silicone holiday trivets come in Star of David and dreidel shapes, as well.

Happy Hanukkah!
