“Not Charlie Sheen, But Winning!” That was how Ed Schultz of Waukesha, Wis., contacted us when he found out he won our most recent facebook sweepstakes featuring an Easter Ham and Pound Cake Combo.

Ed said, “I wished I had a real ‘taste-o-vision’ app like we saw on April Fool’s Day, because when I saw that ham I was tempted to lick the screen!” He says that he plans on getting a group of low-income Veterans together to enjoy this Easter Feast.  “I will be doing more along that line of feeding the Vets, come Monday’s meeting of the local Marine Corps League.  In fact, I ordered additional food this morning to make this meal go a little further. This is going to be a great Easter celebration!”

We asked Ed to tell us a little bit more about the League and its efforts in the local community. “We are a group of Marines and Navy Corpsmen – both active duty and prior service – that band together to give back to our local community through the discipline and skills we acquired in the Marine Corps.” Ed tells us that, like many communities in America, his has been particularly hard hit in this economy, but food, shelter, and services remain staple needs in everyone’s life.  “I just couldn’t believe my luck when the e-mail came in. I got so excited that I went out to purchase a lottery ticket… just in case!”
