New York City restaurant Comodo fully embraces the idea.
Comodo encourages customers to fire away with their phones and share their meals visually using Instagram, the popular photo-sharing service.
By tagging their photos with the restaurant’s hashtag #comodonyc, diners create a crowdsourced visual menu of the eatery’s offerings.
Instagram has acquired a reputation for creative and sometimes “artsy” photography, so it’s a rather trendy environment for a restaurant’s culinary creations to be seen…and a pretty cool new advertising opportunity.
