The wheat life cycle begins with the planting of the seed, the mature plant is then harvested, the grain is milled into flour and the flour is made into wheat foods such as bread, cereal and pretzels.

Wheat can be found in everything from tortillas and pasta to sauces and candy.


  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chocolate hazelnut spread (such as Nutella)
  • 1 1/2 cups wheat squares cereal (such as Wheat Chex™)
  • 1 1/2 cups rice squares cereal (such as Rice Chex™ or Crispix™)


  • 1 Line cookie sheets with wax paper. Place about 2 inches of water in a saucepan and bring it to a simmer. Put the chocolate chips and hazelnut spread in a bowl and place it over the saucepan. Stir the chocolate occasionally to melt it.
  • 2 Remove melted mixture from heat and stir in cereals to coat them completely.
  • 3 Using a large spoon, place spoonfuls of the mixture in mounds on waxed paper lined cookie sheets in mounds about 1 1/2 to 2 inches in diameter.
  • 4 Refrigerate when done to set the chocolate.
