When most people think Oktoberfest, they think beer. Big frosty mugs and genuine German beer…dark and flavorful. None of that watery â€˜lightâ€™ stuff for this affair, right?
But, of course, there’s a lot more to the ‘Fest than that. There’s food! After all, you can’t drink all that brew on an empty stomach. Yet, again, when you think of Oktoberfest, you probably think of sausages…bratwurst, kielbasa, knockwurst and the like.
Indeed, if you’re having guests over for an Oktoberfest bash, you may want to include something that comes in links, but we suggest you paint your party with a broader brush.
Roast chicken is one of the most popular meats served at the Munich celebration, home of the first Oktoberfest in 1810, and those big, soft and salty pretzels partner beautifully with a frosty cold brew. You may wish to include those items in your spread.
