Pepsi has created a new cola made from natural ingredients, with no no artificial preservatives, colors, flavorings or sweeteners. The new drink is called “Pepsi Raw,” and, no, it’s not a spoof. It was apparently created in response to a growing demand for premium and more natural products.

We checked it out with Pepsi and the folks there tell us it’s the first new drink to be added to Pepsi’s series in more than ten years. They also say that the calorie count of a 300 ml (about 10 fluid ounces) bottle will be 90 calories, instead of the usual 120, thanks to replacing corn syrup with cane sugar. Other ingredients are reportedly apple extract, plain caramel coloring, coffee leaf, tantaric acid from grapes, gum arabic from acacia trees, cane sugar and sparkling water, with less fizz than other colas.

They are calling Raw “a new premium Pepsi cola, which is made using ingredients from natural sources. Launching first in the UK, it is the most significant innovation from Pepsi since the launch of Pepsi Max in 1993.”

There will also be a new website to support the launch of Pepsi Raw.
