Time is running short but there’s still a few days left to enter Duncan Hines National Bake Sale Contest, which supports “Cupcakes for a Causeâ„¢” to benefit CancerCare for Kids®. Contest entry deadline is November 1, 2008.
To inspire creativity and help kids get excited about a worthwhile cause, the contest is open to people who host their own bake sales, donate proceeds to CancerCare for Kids, and then tell about the experience.
To enter, log on to www.duncanhines.com to find contest and donation details. This site will also enable consumers to download Duncan Hines coupons, recipes, and baking tips to get those creative juices flowing. Groups OR individuals eligible to enter should have organized bake sales and send all contributions directly to CancerCare.
Entrants should then submit pictures of their most creative cupcake along with a no-more-than 50-word story describing their bake sale. Group and individual entries to the contest will be judged on criteria including creativity and inspiration by an independent panel of experts including Duncan Hines executives, Clare Crespo (creative baking expert and author of Hey There, Cupcake!), CancerCare staff, and the editors of KidsDay news.
Prizes will be awarded in two categories: Group and Individual. Prizes will be awarded to one group, one individual, and ten finalists, five in each category. Each individual member of one grand prize group winner (each group must be limited to 20 members) will receive a $100 US Savings Bond and a Cuisinart® Power Select™ 7-Speed Electronic Hand Mixer. One individual grand prize winner will receive a $500.00 US Savings Bond and a Cuisinart® 5.5 Quart Stand Mixer. Each individual member of five group finalist winners and five individual finalist winners will each receive a $25.00 US Savings Bond. All finalists and winners will receive a Duncan Hines t-shirt.
