What are you giving up for Lent? Christen Nehmer, videographer for The Food Channel, is giving us her experience in going meatless. Follow along throughout the 40 days of Lent.
Day Six:
I mentioned this before in an earlier blog, but I’ll say it again: It is so hard to eat like this within the fast food market. I seriously had no idea what to eat last night.
I love cooking, but sometimes when you’re around it all the day the last thing you want to do is go home and cook. And it’s even worse when you don’t have any groceries and cereal wasn’t really doing it for me.
When all else fails, sushi is the answer. I went to my local grocery store and picked up a spicy crab roll. And in our grocery store, the sushi happens to be at the end of the meat counter. I walked slowly past all of the ribeyes, tenderloins, t-bone steaks and filet mignons. The man behind the counter asked if I needed anything. I smiled and shook my head ‘no,’ grabbed my spicy crab roll and left.
Hopefully one of these days I can sit down, make a grocery list, find some great vegetarian recipes and whip up something delicious.
