A Coffee Maker That Understands Your Needs

By Cari Martens

How would you like a coffee machine that ‘knows’ exactly how you like your brew? Well, if you’re one of those people who’ve got an extra $2,500 lying around, you can get a fancy shiny gadget that does just that.

Meet the new Xelsis Digital ID SLX 8870 MS from Saeco, a machine for coffee control freaks, who need their caffeine to function properly in the morning.

Your personal brewing preferences are stored by the stainless steel beauty, and it works with a simple fingerprint reader that recognizes you and prepares your cup of Joe precisely to your tastes. The Xelsis can be flavor programmed for up to five people. There’s a manual input for folks other than the favored five.

Other features include a self-cleaning hot water tank, cup warmer, ceramic grinder, and a color TFT display. The thing weighs about 38 lbs.

It would make a nice Father’s Day gift for the caffeine-addicted dad who has everything.
