It’s summertime and that means Farmers Markets, fresh vegetables, and the abundance of items such as corn. In fact, The Food Channel found 1,440 ears of it, freshly roasted and ready to eat—all for free.

It was part of the Ozarks Food Harvest fundraiser, with donations from the Greater Springfield Farmers Market vendors. A group called Harvest on Wheels shucked, roasted and buttered the corn while families browsed other delights found at the Farmers Market. Donations of food and cash were accepted while people munched on the roasted corn, many of them calling it “breakfast.”
