The Cupcake Trend Rolls On...to Cinnabon.

After 25 years of baking up famously aromatic and sweet-tasting cinnamon rolls, Cinnabon is now rolling out its newest menu addition: cupcakes.




The Atlanta-based franchise claims it tested 556 different recipes—each one containing the same secret ingredient—before deciding on the winner which the company says “is well worthy of the Cinnabon name.” I guess they must think it is—their rather cocky slogan for the intro is: “Anything else is just a cupfake.”

The initial rollout includes four flavors.

  • Cinnacake Classic. Vanilla cake infused with Cinnabon’s Makara Cinnamon topped with signature cream cheese frosting and garnished with a caramel, Makara Cinnamon swirl.
  • Chocolate Passion. Chocolate cake topped with rich, chocolate buttercream frosting.
  • Vanilla Bliss. Vanilla cake topped with luscious, vanilla buttercream frosting.
  • 24-Carrot Cake. Spiced carrot cake with a hint of pineapple and coconut, topped with Cinnabon’s signature cream cheese frosting and orange sugar sprinkles.

The cupcakes are available individually or in party packs of 4, 6, or a dozen.

Cinnabon says the new cupcake line will be available in its international bakeries later this year.

Looks like now you can have your cake and eat a Cinnabon, too.
