Dine while you watch.

At The Food Channel, we love to eat while enjoying our favorite awards programs. With The Emmy Awards coming, we thought it would be fun to live vicariously by exploring the menu at the Governor’s Ball—and sharing our tips for creating your own event.

According to Food & Wine, Patina Catering is the official caterer for the Ball, which begins after the live show. For the first time, Patina is partnering with L.A. Kitchen, a Los Angeles based non-profit that collects and redistributes food that would otherwise be discarded. The organization also trains the unemployed for careers in the foodservice industry with a vision that neither food nor people ever go to waste.

And The Winner Is

The Governor’s Ball three-course meal is “Golden Grandeur” themed and has been carefully crafted by the chefs at Patina Catering.

First Course:

Last of the Heirlooms – Local heirloom tomatoes, dinosaur plums, red quinoa, charred leek vinaigrette, balsamic jelly, basil and sea salt.

Main Course:

Pan Roasted Filet Mignon – Mission figs, asparagus, purple marble potatoes, roasted red flame grapes, creamy horseradish purée, and whole grain mustard sauce.

Dessert:

Alunga Brownie Bar – Dulce de leche, roasted cherries, and cherry gel.

Not ones to miss out on a celebration, we’ve curated some of our most comparable recipes so you can watch The Emmys and dine like the stars.
